How Do I Collect My Judgement?

If thirty days passes and the defendant has not paid the judgement or appealed, you may file a "Writ of Execution" which directs the Sheriff to "levy" on the Defendant's property (the Sheriff sells the property) or "attach" property (the Sheriff takes the property of the defendant that someone else possesses, such as money in a bank account). You will then receive the proceeds of the levy or attachment to satisfy your judgement.
