In Philadelphia, Small Claims Court is officially called "Philadelphia Municipal Court." Outside Philadelphia, Small Claims Court is officially known as "District Justice Court." These courts provide a forum where individuals and businesses can quickly and inexpensively resolve disputes. Many people go there unrepresented, while others are only comfortable when an attorney accompanies them.
